I guess this means you are not in agreement with Big and 93 that the discussion needs to be polite?

Oh, wait a minute...

"Look what happens when you stop **** flinging and trying to pin an opinion onto someone else - we can actually discuss the issues and find out we aren't too far apart."

I think this means you want to hold Tanq to a standard that you don't hold yourself to. Is that correct? If not, what is the standard you would like both of you to meet?

I would like for both of us to be more courteous. Unfortunately, rationale posts are often met with a fever-dream like response from Tanq, without any provocation. So every once in a while I get a bit cranky and respond in kind.

Definitely not my proudest posts, but **** happens.

Kind of excusing it there at the end. OK with me, as long as you give the same flexibility to me and others.

I have definitely tried to be more polite the last few months. So why drag me into your little wars with Tanq and Numbers?

When I post, I am presenting MY opinions, based on MY thoughts and MY life. Tanq and Numbers and I and quite a few more people that post less often tend to agree on a lot, but we are not some right wing cabal working together. Heck, we don't even vote the same way.

I see a difference between you and 93/Big/AE/other lefties,. You are more flexible and rational than they are.

when the statues thing first came up, I thought it silly. But then it died down again for a long time, only to become a cause' celebre' since Floyd's death. what did that incident have to do with statues or base names?

I don't care about base names. We can rename Fort Polk Fort Crazy Horse if it makes you happy. But it has been Polk for a long time. I just don't see it as important. I hate the names of certain federal office buildings, named after prominent Democrats. I am not a fan of Lake Sam Rayburn. But it doesn't affect my life or anybody else's that I can see. BFD. But since Floyd, these things became muy importante when they were of little or no importance before.
