RE: High Schools resume football practice - why not colleges?
I think there are 2 schools of thought when looking at the downward trends relative to this disease. I take the view that the trend will continue downward as we achieve herd immunity, continue to revise and improve treatment, and the items macgar32 mentioned (masks, awareness, sanitation). There maybe bumps (a few thousand spike here and there); but materially we are headed to mitigation of this and a return to a more normal life. The other view is we will spike up to a level of infection that returns us to New York of late March. I think that is highly unlikely. The process of diagnosing and treating COVID have dramatically changed.

People in the risk factors lives are changed forever (people over 55 or with heart, lung, or immunity disorders); but under 55 and healthy the impact is light or non-existent.

The more time we go without a spike, the less a chance there is to have one... we'll be fine.
