That's a valuable non-conference spot that could potentially be filled with a P5 home-and-home. If we could play 3 P5-level teams per season with the 1 FCS game, I think that would look a lot better perception wise with the pollsters. I know it's not an easy task getting P5 home-and-home series though.

I'm not fundamentally opposed to ending the series, but you'll need to show me where we are consistently getting 2 P5 home and home games a year before I'd be willing to do it. As it is the Nippert/PBS/Yager setup is fine.

Yeah, I'm not sure where those games would come from. And I agree, it only makes sense to end the Miami series if we know for sure we can get those two series each year.

I've said for years if we can't get a P5 to replace Miami I'd rather switch to Ohio or Toledo. Other than a short road trip for our fans, we gain nothing by playing Miami U every year. Some day they will catch us again on a year where our team is down, theirs is up, or just a weird combination of various circumstances and it will bite us in the butt. The local media will be all over the story, trashing UC and praising Miami and what not. Would be disastrous.

Bolded, yes, that is the risk and, odds are, that risk grows each year that UC continues to win. If or when UC does lose a game to Miami though, is it really any worse than a loss to any other MAC team? Yes, Toledo is consistently a better football team than the Redhawks, but any MAC loss would probably be a knockout for a New Year's six bowl regardless. So why not get the benefit of the neutral site PBS in the mix as well as a strong UC fan contingent for the less frequent trips to Oxford? It could be argued we have home field advantage every year. In Toledo, it's a tougher road game environment if that series is home and home.
