It is nice to have fond memories of what Bowen Field House meant to everyone, but I feel those that want a return to relive the memories, are not thinking it through. First, Bowen is located in a part of the main campus that would need a large parking lot for the spectators to park. That space is not available. Second, would you go back to the temporary bleacher setup, which what it was for the vast majority of seating, and if not, what would the costs be to renovate with permanent seating? Lastly, Eastern's administration decided a long time ago that an athletic campus would be located where we presently have Rynearson, The Convocation Center, Oestrike, et al.
Agree.

And as I believe KPJ posted, EMU did away with the bleachers, etc.

What is truly SHOCKING is how we had very good/excellent programs in a field house which wasn't even a high school gym.

Maybe it could be described as an indoor track and field facility converted for basketball usage. It wasn't even a h.s. gym built with the dimensions for a bball court.

I liked the way John Fountain referred to it as the old barn.
