Schools are public resources. The state government is the ultimate authority on policy regarding schools. These sports are school events. This isn't complicated.

And if you read his words, he's distinctly saying that the State/his Office won't be the ones stopping sports and that it is up to the local entities to make the best decision for them.

Which is fine. It should be up to the local districts. The can choose at any time what sports will or will not be played. My point is Dewine by himself does not have that authority.

And my point is that he didn't use it...and never indicated that he would through all of his press conferences, just that the Health Department may make recommendations.

That's fine. It's also up to local districts whether or not they follow those recommendations and if you read George Vogel's tweet which I was referring to you will see what prompted my comment.
