You know, for someone who has a penchant for pedantry with regard to semantics, it's weird to see "should of" in your post.
I think the simple lesson(and it's not just a few people, the car protest, the standing protests... there were a lot of people) is that policy shouldn't disenfranchise your constituents. When people are driven to the point to start an armed occupation of a state house, and you're the only state it's happened in... MAYBE, just maybe you're being a little too arbitrary with your restrictions?

What if instead of assuming everyone who disagrees with you is stupid, you actually tried listened to peoples objections, and concerns. That way, you can keep your legitimacy as a representative of the public interest, and you know, not look like a petulant child?
