You think the crowd in Tuscaloosa and Columbus and Austin are going to stay home because of fear? And those schools could financially afford to stay closed for a semester or two. Tons of universities, especially private, will be shuttered. Students are not going to spend $40,000+ to take classes online. They can do that for under $10k.

FWIW, I have family that plays D1 football (I was told this second hand from another family member so details may get mixed up). The school told him there would be no summer practice, and there will be no football in the fall. He will be allowed to come back (this is his senior season) and play in the spring/summer when they believe they will play.

I think much of this message if it did happen would be when the message was delivered. As we have all seen the message changes daily. In parts of the country beaches are open, and restaurants will open in South Carolina this week. And its just April. Life will look much different come Aug 1st. Hopefully this June will look much different.
