This is exactly the right take. Life will not be "normal" until there is a vaccine or enough of us have been infected AND they can prove that infection equals immunity.

No vaccine but medicine that relieves symptoms effectively for many. Unfortunately I think that's becoming a 1st option too quickly and to some, the only option. If covid-19 was primarily matter blood transfusion, reusing needles and sticking your jimmy in the wrong place, most would be fine.

The vast majority now need no special treatment to releave the symptoms.
