...because there's medical treatment/prevention for the flu. You can get a shot or take a pill to treat or prevent symptoms or illness. With the flu, 'Mericans can "fix the glitch" by stopping into a Walgreens once, rather than totally changing their lives by doing crazy things like washing hands more frequently and not licking microphones.

Think about it. There is a vaccine for the flu, it can be for 3 or 4 strains, and we still have thousands dead and hundreds of thousands hospitalized. Millions get infected. Vaccine for these types of viruses is far from a fix. Treatment for those who develop severe symptoms is a better way to move forward. Also, people should be practicing better hygiene and other habits to stop the spread of all respiratory viruses and other diseases.

More and more info keeps coming out and it looks more like people with certain conditions are mostly affected. We sort of knew this earlier, but more studies confirm that the vast majority of people will likely be just fine.keeping people trapped is not doing much good. All we've done is limit the places people go and probably really concentrated the virus is those locations. Hopefully states will open soon.

96 percent of the prisoners involved in the mass testing in Arkansas, Tennessee, and Ohio are not sick. While prisons don't involve great full scale tests because each prison unit is different in terms of who it houses, this should tell us a couple things. One: This disease is nowhere near as deadly as people are playing out to be and Two: It's going to be dang near impossible to stop.

My solution from the beginning was chasing herd immunity by making sure the people exposed to the virus are young and healthy, I still think it remains the best plan. Sweden closed very few things and somehow has a flatter curve than the UK does, and they are on full lockdown.

I don't think lockdowns are the answer...I don't think business closures are the answer. I think the answer is isolating our vulnerable populations, limiting capacity in places where thousands can gather, and letting people go back to work.

We are still in a lockdown in my state. Have been for weeks. But a rehabilitation/nursing home just a block away from me just had a massive outbreak. Virtually everyone there and staff are infected. So a general lockdown is not working. Better to focus in high risk areas and let the general population return to normal. Resources can be focused on the most vulnerable.
