If I'm the Patriots, I'm working on getting Deshaun Watson. Maybe I trade for him or maybe I wait until next season.

I want no part of Cam Newton.

There is no chance that Watson leaves the Texans. That is a ridiculous rumor. Newton has not been to the Pro Bowl since 2015, his MVP season. He has to prove that he can pass a real physical and play on a “prove it” one year deal for less money than he was going to get in Carolina. Newton was scheduled to make $21 million this season before he was cut.

It could be a rumor, but why is it ridiculous?

His contract is up after this coming season and the Texans are commonly thought to be a franchise that makes bad decisions. Look at the recent Hopkins trade.

If they're not going to make sure he as weapons around him then it's entirely plausible at this point to think Watson would want out.
