What I can't buy is the idea that Baylor or OK State is a suitable replacement for Missouri, or that TCU is a must-have but not Arizona State. It's like saying that San Jose State is a suitable replacement for UCLA.

There is a pecking order, whether you are the SEC, Big Ten or PAC. Big, state flagship schools are preferred over small, private schools, unless you're called the Fighting Irish.

That’s a fair discussion although AZ State is not the Flagship school of Arizona. U of A is the Flagship school and the AAU member.

TCU versus AZ State -
Academically TCU is ranked 97
Academically ASU is ranked 117

Dallas is 5 in DMA, Pheonix is 11.

Certainly Az State has more graduates. But teams would rather travel to Texas rather then Arizona.

Certainly Baylor and Ok State are no where near Missouri but you take what you can get... and a 4th Texas school meaning two trips to Texas isn’t a horrible thing. Nor is Baylor’s 79 Ranking.
