It should definitely be a realistic fear for a man in his 70s with diabetes, kidney transplant, suppressed immune system, history of stroke, and bronchiectasis. His life would be in jeopardy with any serious virus. The common flu could kill him.

The fact that even he survived this virus with a few days of high flow oxygen (no life-saving ventilator needed) gives me even more hope for a quicker return to normal.
