Time Change for NCCU Game On Wednesday
Game moved to 2 p.m. on Wednesday

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW opens an eight-game homestand on Wednesday against North Carolina Central. Game time has been moved to 2 p.m. due to expected inclement weather later in the day.

The Seahawks (9-3) are coming off a sweep at Kentucky that saw UNCW pitching dominate the Wildcats in all three games. Headed by strong starts from Zarion Sharpe and Landen Roupp, UNCW posted shutouts in each of the first two games and capped the series with a 7-4 win on Sunday.

Roupp was honored by the Colonial Athletic Association as the league's Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday. Roupp limited the Wildcats to two hits over seven innings in recording his third win of the season. He lowered his earned run average to 0.47.

Sharpe was equally impressive as he tossed seven shutout innings in the opener, an 8-0 win. Sharpe extended his shutout streak to 14 innings entering this weekend.

North Carolina Central has gotten off to a 4-9 start after dropping 2-of-3 to visiting Saint Joseph's over the weekend.

The Seahawks and Eagles have met 10 times with UNCW holding a 9-1 lead in the series. The two programs last met during the 2017 season.

UNCW continues the homestand on Friday with a 4 p.m. start against Memphis.
