Not that anyone knows what the heck the ASun is up to but:

1. Why would the NEC or America East care what the ASun is up to?
2. Why would the NEC or America East want to prevent what the ASun is up to?
3. Even if the NEC or America East cared what the ASun was up to, or wanted to prevent what the ASun was up to, would they care or want to prevent that outcome MORE than the negatives associated with adding a school that either conference could have added at any point in the last 15 years at any time either wanted to?

If, say, the ACC wanted to stop whatever this is (and let me go on the record to say that this isn't anything), and wanted to pay America East $10M or so to stop it by accepting NJIT, well, okay. Otherwise, this is a "not our problem" type problem for the northeast non-football conferences.
