It sucks that Ducker is injured, but at the same time its good to know that its not a case of one of the most highly touted freshmen in recent memory not being good enough to get on the field in a year when freshman are clearly being given every opportunity.

Sportsfan...I'd withhold judgement on something like that for a couple reasons. 1) at some spots we were just that devoid of talent that true freshmen have to play i.e. at safety. Defensive end doesn't surprise me either since we have had zero production there since Smitn and Corcoran and its not like these freshman are listed above a bunch of SRs & JRs, its pretty much all RS FR or SOPHs. 2) In all reality we know there will be a major asterisk next to these six games and to the "MAC CHAMPIONSHIP." Add in the free eligibility, and why wouldn't you take the opportunity to throw as many guys out there as possible?? Get them all real game reps, play the guys each week that really earned it in practice. Basically use these 6 games as a more game realistic training camp to build into next year. If that is Hammocks thinking and a big reason behind some freshman being listed before other guys, I'm totally OK with that. We will just have to wait and see!
