Polytechnic Institute), didn't pan out, the Pride tapped a new head Football Coach in Tyler Card, who spent the last five years at Sul Ross State University, located in up-and-coming Alpine, Texas, where he served as the offensive coordinator for the past three seasons. During that time, Card was credited with calling an offense that produced three All-Conference selections in one of the toughest NCAA Division III football conferences in America, the American Southwest Conference. Coach Card apparently also has a masters of health and human performance from Sul Ross State. Much like Rice athletics, Greenesboro College also recently unveiled a revamped Athletics logo change for their program.

Tyler Card Named Sixth Head Football Coach In Program History

I've been to Alpine. I am puzzled by the up and coming descriptor.

At 4475 ft above sea level, the town of Alpine is just about as “up” as you will find in Texas!

Alpine is, indeed, up and coming. There’s been a big spike in the population over the past 10 years... mainly retirees. It has a very agreeable climate and a low cost of living. And, historically, it’s a big baseball town. Another plus!
