(Just doing the math...Owls would need to go 10-2 next season to match the coach that Old Missed just fired. Of course, if we go 10-2 next season, that would be showing the kind of progress this program needs for a change.)

Newly-annointed Ole Miss Athletic Director Keith Carter wasted no time cleaning house, saying, “While improvements were evident in certain aspects of the program, we are judged ultimately by our record, and, unfortunately, we did not meet the standard of success that we expect from our program.”

I don't understand why Rice's AD doesn't try to schedule series against Old Missed and Mississippi State? Seems we'd have a better chance at getting some of their fans to travel to visit HRS in Houston, and it could help both sides' recruiting. Then again, maybe we have inquired and there's no interest. Hard to tell.
