Some stats of note from the game.

* Only six Hoyas played (you don't see that very often as, typically, a coach will play at least seven players)

* Relatedly to the first stat ... four GU players played 40 minutes. Very uncommon but understandable given only six Hoyas played.

* In addition to the four who played 40 minutes, the other two players played 30 mins and 10 mins, respectively. As such, of the six GU players who saw action, each played a number of minutes that is a multiple of 10. That RARELY happens.

No OY or MM (again) for GU.

It has been a tough season for the Hoyas.

Today's game was reminiscent of many of last year's close losses at first. Then I took a deep breath and reminded myself of everything this team has been through. We had no business even being in that position against 'Nova but for the heart of our players and Big Pat. Heartbreaking, but acceptable to me. I like this group more than any since Otto.

Thank you to Jagan, Terrell, George and (hopefully not) Omer. You'll always be Hoyas!

I'm sure you are very proud of this team (players and coaches), VCE. They never quit. I've been very impressed with the fight and grit.

Good luck in the tourney. I will be rooting for GU almost as much as I will be cheering for DePaul.
