Yet, according to Tulsa and ECU fans, we can’t say anything about Kiyron Powell. Who had offers from Iowa, Georgetown, Xavier, Creighton, K-State, and Cincy. Yet, this guy is hyping the hell out of Shumate. Whose offer list contains Chicago State, Detroit, Grand Canyon, etc.

And Shumate is going to eat a guy’s lunch that will be playing pro ball somewhere after next season. These guys kill me.

We have an untested Freshman. They have a freshman that is going to come in and dominate. Makes a lot of sense.

I understand that Houston fans get hung up on offer sheets but tape combined with stats combined with his level of competition doesn’t lie. He averaged more points, rebounds, and about the same number of blocks as Powell (who is 3 inches taller), and he did it against some of the toughest competition in the country in Chicago. Seriously, this kid is going to be special barring injury.

I see the same level of talent when I watch Shumate as I do in Mark when I watch both. (Though they have different skill sets)

just for contrast...shumate could be the greatest thing ever..not judging but just for conversation

shumate played for bloom, a public school that didnt play a national schedule, in a state not that big..bloom was not ranked in the top 50 high schools

The 6'6" forward averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds and 7 blocked shots per game. note shumate is only 180lbs at 6'6 (not bulky)..curious how you think those rebounding and block numbers will translate ..powell is 6'9, expected to reach 6'10+

mark for comparison sake (since you noted him), Mark averaged 29.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.2 steals while, leading his high school to a #14 national rankings

--- agan not judging i hope shumate is the greatest thing ever (just fun offseason conversation), i want him to be as good as you say..just interesting how you downplay houston on things that are truly hype worthy...but hype up way smaller things in regards to tulsa
