No $hit 03-lmfao . Hinton was one of the top 2 or 3 players returning in the league by any metric, and clearly the key to their dominate rebounding getting 8.7rpg as a freaking wing. Rebounding was the thing they stood out in the most by a mile on their team as elite (Houston #2 in the nation in rebound rate) and was the driving forces in their dominance and he was the main part if not all of that of that clearly was Hinton getting out of position boards like a madman and being the best rebounder on the team. These guards like Mills and Sasser he is talking about replacing him and the most important thing he does for Houston and the biggest reason why they were so good is nonsense. Any center replacing what he did would have to be about the best rebounder in the nation to make it up too. It's a huge loss for Houston and the league.

Rebounds per 100 possessions

Hinton 17.2
Grimes 7.9
Mills 7.0
Sasser 6.1

There is no replacing what he really did for that team because there aren't but a few other wings that even rebound like that. He was the elite #1 rebounder on the #2 rebounding team in the nation from a weird position at thats the thing that made Houston elite and different. You don't replace that, there team DNA and identity will be completely different.

you realize we were elite at rebounding before hinton..
2 season ago we start 6'1, 6'1, 6'3 6'7 and 6'8...and were top 3 rebounding nationally

we will be 6'3, 6'5, 6'5, 6'8, 6'8 next year (the 4star we got is 6'6 combo guard)....the idea that we are going to be a bad rebounding team without hinton is odd

Who the hell said anything about being bad. The question is are you going to be #2 in the nation that you need to replicate your team identity last year that Hinton was driving. I highly doubt that, so you better figure another way drive wins and do it at the level he was as evident by his win shares where he far and away impacted winning more than anyone returning.

you realize that identity was there way before hinton??
this video was made before hinton ever played a sec for houston...just listen to the 1st 10 seconds from where the video starts
https://youtu.be/Snr5bT-hfwU?t=170

i can almost guarantee you we'll be a top 5 rebounding team like we have for the last 4 years

also i think you misinterpret the point.. everyone thinks hinton is great..we arent saying we are losing a bad player..we are saying we are SO deep at guard, the loss isnt that big..if we somehow land a touted big we'd probably be in better shape
