San Diego State is in a much better conference.
Would the AAC ever entertain an offer to add UCSD?
The UC system has two heavyweights, sports wise - UCLA and Cal. Not going to change that.
San Diego State will now have to recruit against two D1 institutions in their backyard. And the academic prowess that UCSD possesses will be more attractive to the Pac 12. Last we checked, presidents and chancellors still vote on membership...
UCSD shows any prowess in hoops, they'll jump to the front of the line as a candidate.
And even if SDSU recruiting isn't affected by UCSD moving up, Fresno and SJSU certainly will be.
Now consider ooc scheduling. San Diego State may find scheduling some games tougher now with a 3rd D1 institution in their backyard who will be willing (initially) to play on the road in a 2 for 1 arrangement instead of insisting on a 1:1
No more BW or WCC foes besides UCSD or USD, perhaps?
