As far as affiliate football only members, U. of San Diego is non-scholarship, and plays in the Pioneer. Their closest conference mate is in Des Moines Iowa (Drake). It must get tiresome for them to have to cross the country to the midwest and south for half of their conference games. I would guess they might be interested in playing teams a bit closer, and saving some cash. The scholarship thing could be an issue though.
