I was paying .27 cents per gallon in 1974 and by '78 was paying over 2.00 a gallon and had to sell my '74 Cutlass with a 350v8 with a 4 barrel carburetor because it only got 8 miles to gallon and man would that car fly, literally. I had to have extra weight welded on the bottom just to keep her stable. So Jimmah cost me my all time favorite set of wheels and I wound up having to keep my wife's God awful Pinto simply because of the mpg. Iran was the political embarrassment, but the rapid rise in gasoline prices was the domestic embarrassment of that administration.

For the children of today that would be like jumping from the present prices which in Alabama are around 2.35 for 87 octane to $20.00 a gallon today.

Make her Royal Blue with a white accent stripe and white vinyl top and you've got her! But I believe looking at the grill that the one pictured is a '73. The '74 Cutlass had a little more slope at the grill with rounded headlights. Eh! Could be the angle of the shot. Anyway add a buggy whip redneck CB antenna and you've got her! Great times! Great Car!
