It would not surprise me if this is just the Sox with buyers remorse, or a reaction to the terrible fan reaction to trading Betts. It’s really hard to imagine they didn’t realize Graterol’s future is as a reliever - they didn’t need medicals to read the many reports and articles published on that topic. Now the Dodgers are in a shaky place with Pederson and Maeda. Pederson’s arb hearing was pretty rough and he lost. Maeda knows he’s gonna get chucked back to the bullpen if he stays. It’s probably gonna be up to the Dodgers to figure a way out of the mess. I don’t think they want to face the consequences of keeping those players. Not to mention Verdugo and the sexual assault he was ‘present for’ that a lot more people know about now.

Twins officially out of the deal. I can’t blame them - Sox aren’t fair dealing here. But sounds like LA and Boston both need this deal enough to figure something out.
