Also, still have the lingering question obviously of Jansen.

Jansen is not a question - the Dodgers know exactly what he is. But the obvious response here is "math". Adding Betts should give LA the ability to give up a few more runs because they should be scoring more.

Betts is replacing a guy who did hit what 36 homers last year? Pederson was not a bad player in the least. Is Betts better? Sure. But is he going to be worth even 1/2 a run per game? Probably not.

1/2 a run per game? What the **** are you talking about??? Are you trying to imply that the Dodgers will lose 1/2 run per game because of Jansen's decline? Good gravy... Betts fWAR: 6.6; Pederson: 3.0. This is a MASSIVE upgrade but to think that it needs to be worth 0.5 run/game (81 wRC+) is ... aw **** I just have no words.

Pederson had a 127 wRC+ himself last year... 8 points lower than Betts. How you field the ball has nothing to do with offense(and that's a lot of Betts WAR).

The Dodgers scored last year 5.47 runs per game. Just how many more runs do you expect them to score? Pederson was not a bum by any stretch of the imagination.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers have lost 485.2 innings of 3.09 ERA baseball in Ryu, Maeda, Stripling, and Hill. With 83 starts made there.... Will they be able to make that up is the huge question.....

No, it's not. It's just not.
