White had a solid game against Southern. He's had trouble against good teams that make him move in the pocket. If you're happy with a slow footed, soft tosser who throws mostly underneath or behind the line of scrimmage, he's perfect. His stats will look good on paper. If he has to make a play downfield, he struggles. If he has to carry the team on his back when the running game is getting shut down, he hasn't been real good.

Let's see how he does going forward. Last year he had a bum foot most of the year. Let's throw out the first game of this year for various reasons and see what happens. He's definitely going to be the starter as he should. I just don't understan why some of us get all jiggy when someone points out some of his shortcomings. It's a discussion forum.

Because most of us have better than an elementary understanding of football. We understand the difference in two Junior that had 17 catches combined in their careers being called experienced players. We also understand there is a huge difference in a QB with one of the five strongest arms on the Tigers in the last four decades and somebody that has no arm strength at all. We also understand that a QB runs the offense that is called.

There is a big difference in pointing out shortcomings and trashing the QB and saying he is holding us back. It's the second game of the season and he is 2-0.
It's the stupidity of after two wins, some idiots are calling for the backup to be the starter. When most of them have never been to a practice, don't really know anything about the team and just whine like insolent children when people don't agree with them.

If you don't fit into any of those descriptions, then I have no problem discussing his limitations and strengths and how they fit within our team's offense.

I can't comment YET because I can't find the full Southern game anywhere, but IF Adair did throw a ball 50 yards in the air it proves that White can't make that throw, Norvell won't let him, and Norvell's evaluation of his skill set is that he "trusted" him to throw 9 passes behind the line of scrimmage to start the Ole Piss game, with the other pass intended as a 5 yard out, that White was way late on. In other words, he has no trust in him, and sadly has (had) even less trust in McBride and Adair.

We've had to listen to idiotic stuff, like White is the reason why Henderson and the rest of the running backs ran for 3,919 yards, that the wide receivers and tight ends can't get open and that the offensive line is no good.

Are you still arguing that it is Coxie's 2nd year? That was especially stupid on your part.

You are too obtuse to even respond to. Let's look at 2017: How many games did Coxie start? How many games was he the primary receiver? How many games did he catch more than 5 catches?

I will save you the trouble of trying to find out... ZERO. He had 21 catches, most in mop up duty. How do you consider that an experienced WR when he was thrust into the role of replacing an All-American?! He's had more catches than the current Senior WRs combined.
I am arguing that this is his second year AS A STARTER, being the FOCUS of the receiving corps. Why can't you understand that?! Last year, the first for Brady White was Coxie's second year as a Tiger.

'Pop' Williams had 12 catches in 2017, he never started. Never even played in the first half of a game. Once again, his becoming the #2 WR is a huge step up in experience and responsibility.

Gibson and Jones both had catches last season as well. Neither of them had as many as Slade, who is no longer with the team because of lack of playing time... YET, you are willing to talk about their experience and maturity since they are all Seniors.

You can't comment YET because you haven't seen the game... WOW!!?! It doesn't PROVE anything because Brady White has thrown the ball that far multiple times. Just for your viewing pleasure... 9:50 left in the 1st Q. Brady White passes from his 37 (LOS was 44) and hits Coxie in the hands at the 15. Good play by their DB to strip his arms, but a perfect pass by BW.

Quote:Coxie, who is only a second year player, last season was his first as a starter.

It isn't easy to try and have a rational debate with a liar.

Now you are doubling down on stupid by blatantly lying. Present tense.
Quote:(since I don't want to appear as blaming our WRs, they are just young. I think there is a lot of talent, it's just young)

The worst lie of all. It is physically impossible for White to throw the ball like Adair did. Which games did he do this? Give me examples.

Since Lynch's first season, our wide receivers usually improved incrementally over their careers and that is what happens with every program. You can easily argue that Pop, Pollard, Magnifico and Dykes have either stagnated or regressed. Even Marcus Rucker improved. Even Tevin Jones improved.

I finally saw the throw by Adair. I can now officially say that your whole theory on White is nonsense. Norvell is an offensive genius and he doesn't trust White to throw the ball more than 10 yards. That is a fact. Worse, he doesn't trust his backups either and that is clearly a fact. The same people that we both know and posters who have seen practices have all said that McBride was much better than White. So maybe McBride isn't a genius at handing off and Henderson would have only rushed for 900 yards last year, or maybe McBride makes too many mistakes. We'll never know.

Norvell has his reasons, and I'm thrilled that we have him, but he isn't infallible. Looking back, I always thought that Henderson should have had more carries his freshman and sophomore seasons. I've never understood why he keeps his starting quarterback in so long.

I will be the happiest person on the board if White somehow proves me wrong. That is the honest truth.

You are too dumb to debate.

And if you saw Adair's pass and didn't see Brady's pass at 9:50 in the 1st Q, when he threw it further in air than Adair's and hit Coxie in stride in the hands... you are blind or a liar.
