Because the Blassey-Ford media event was where all the Dems nailed themselves to the cross of "I believe her", and now, the Biden event, is where they want off.

To be clear, the creed of the Democratic standard-bearers was that we must all "believe victims". At the time, intelligent people across the political spectrum pointed out the inherent tautology: they are only "victims" if one believes them. It turns out there was a corollary: they are only "victims" if the accused is conservative.
