I believe you're making a distinction between comments about looks and about comments about 'actions/qualities'... and I tend to agree...

but you make a good point.

Lots of men on here talking about 'what young women think'... and when I asked a young woman, I got a different answer from what someone else may have gotten from another young woman...

and to me that's precisely the point. Women shouldn't be encouraged, even if they vicariously draw power from the myth, to 'presume' comments about someone else are being directed at them. Paraphrasing, they shouldn't be judged by their gender, but the quality of their character.

What I'd tell my daughter (if she weren't also beautiful) is that the other thing that people who call these successful women 'ugly' is 'boss'.
