My nephew had a degree in Art History - I know how hard getting those jobs is. But the rest of it, however fantastic, is the stuff I expect from Rice grads.

I think the difference that 93 showed here is illustrative. He first snidely makes an oblique aside about my comments and indirectly about my veracity.

In response, some of us note our background.

His response is to give us a purely made up **** story. And, those of us typically on the counter of that side, freely accepted that.

But in his initial comments to me, apparently he does not afford that same default treatment of belief to a bald statement that I have known people who worked with, knew of, and knew Kamala in her stint in the SF DA. Yet I absolutely took his 'word' with his past -- rather unquestioningly.

For seemingly the 10th time, I never questioned the fact that you knew people in the DA's office. The fact that you knew people in the DA's office was not enough data to convince me that Kamala acted as a prostitute. Is that distinction really lost on you?

I think the attitude afforded by us towards his fiction novel is indicative of a certain openness, which certainly is at odds with his default impression I might suspect.

In a way, I wish 93 had not noted his fiction novel -- glad he thinks so little of us to write it as such. Kind of sneering in a way.

Wow. I was bored at "work" and tried to inject some levity here. I honestly never thought it could be read this way. I'm sorry you took it so badly.
