If the goal is enjoyment, I would suggest some other activity. I would much prefer to be playing poker, for instance. Some would rather be playing golf.
Others might enjoy a site on art history more, I guess.

I find intellectual conversation to be stimulating. I find it annoying when other people repeatedly and repetitively read their own worst fears into my comments and invent some argument or statement for me that I never made. So it can be fun, or at least intellectually stimulating, when done correctly. And it has nothing to do with everyone agreeing with me, that would be boring as hell (for me personally).

I don't think Lad or I want polite agreement. But you do realize that polite disagreement is a possible thing, right? I came in here with my politeness guns blazing!
