FIFY

Perfect example of TDS.

You guys just can't stand it that he was successful, can you? Cannot give him his due.

You may remember the parable of the talents from your Bible days. It was the guy who did nothing to increase the value he was given who was the one castigated, even though he returned the most to the master. Trump has increased his "talents' 1000 times or more.

Yep, he had a bit of a head start - then he way outpaced the field. If you give a guy a 50 ft head start, and he wins by 3 laps, can you really say he was slow? Can you really say it was all the head start, that anybody could have run that fast with a 50 ft. head start?

In comparison, Oprah had a lot of money already (from performing) when she started running a business. Just like Trump. Both have done well with what they had.

Are you actually comparing how Trump got his start up funding to how Oprah did? In what world is it similar to come from poverty, work your way up the network TV echelon, and translate that to a media empire as compared to coming from a real estate empire and then turning it into a bigger real estate empire?

No doubt that Trump deserves credit for expanding his brand and building what he has built. It’s impressive in its own right, regardless of any leg up he was given due to his connections and initial familial support. But come on, how can you honestly say that “Oprah had a lot of money already (from performing) when she started running a business. Just like Trump?” Sure, if you ignore all of the details and context and only focus on the most superficial level of that comparison.
