OK, here's my problem with the whole US political process.

Democrats like AOC and others keep screaming incredibly stupid, far-left ideas, and slowly but surely they are moving the party in their direction. Republicans are just saying no, no, no, but offering nothing substantive in return. As Marx noted, the inevitable result is a slow trickle to the left.

Trump has done things differently. He as made substantive proposals--the wall, tariffs. I don't agree with him on those, but at least he is fighting back.

What I would like to see is for somebody--presumably republican--pushing for substantive change is a direction that I would support. I would like to see more of a focus on capitalist growth with a safety net--Bismarck health care, a UBI based on the Boortz-Linder probate/prefund, a national consumption tax to pay for it, and sharp cutbacks in overhead and bloat in every government department.
