As for doctors, my wife is an OBGYN. If you can’t figure out what doctors have to do with childbirth and the decision to terminate a pregnancy, I don’t think I have the energy to explain.

I cannot “win” a debate on this even when I don’t take a side.

I was married with three kids by the time RVW was decided. I grew up in the ra of back door abortions and girls being sent to visit their aunts for a while. I would not willingly go back to that.

OTOH, I am firmly in the belief that abortion is the taking of a human life. Things like viability seem to me to be beside the point. I don’t think the taking of a human life should be demeaned by calling it a fetus or a tumor. As GO points out, there are a lot of examples of babies that survived abortions, and they become human beings.

I don’t see what doctors have to do with whether or not it is right or wrong. Herbert Gosnell was a doctor. Mengele was a doctor.

I think it must be tough for devout Catholics to be devout Democrats.

I take no position on abortion. I see good and bad in both positions, and cannot articulate a policy that would satisfy both sides, so I don’t.
