And how do you evaluate talent when you hire people? Literally every time I bring up someone's education/background, all you care to do is comment on how that basically means nothing.

Probably should have said "each" of those rather than "all" of those. The Rhodes Scholar didn't go to Harvard, but I have actually known people who did all of the other three who were nutcases. I do know a Yale graduate who was a Rhodes Scholar and did not work for McKinsey, but did work for George Soros, and he is pretty sane. He doesn't think George is, by the way.

I don't hire based on education. I hire based on performance. A Harvard degree would mean very little in my hiring process. It would probably mean that the applicant would very likely have had a difficult time working with our oil patch clients. I've certainly experienced that problem with more than one Rice graduate.
