Agree 100%, been thinking this for years. It was reinforced even more when I saw the discrepancy between the Washington state democratic caucus and primary votes in 2016. The caucus was first and delegates were awarded based on caucus votes. There were 26,345 caucus participants with Bernie taking 72.7% of the caucus votes and 74/118 delegates. The primary was 2 months later and had 802,754 voters. Clinton got 52.4% of the primary vote, but the primary vote had no impact on delegate allocation. Makes zero sense.

(the joy of late-night posting)

Wow. So I see it was you who wrote the DNC app. for Iowa. Kudos.
tl;dr: head, meet sand. Keep it coming all year. Trump wins in a cakewalk. Ya'll don't learn #hencePresidentTrump

You're saying the app didn't work because the candidates weren't good enough?

GoodOwl, bad arg.

That could very well be part of the problem. A vote split between equally unappealing candidates is producing a close race between several, and the technology isn't providing the exact vote count in timely fashion.

From what I've read/heard this morning, the issue was with the app and party's infrastructure itself. The app was not functioning properly and allowing people to upload the results, and then phone lines were clogged for multiple hours for those trying to submit their results over the phone.

Sometimes technology can be a real *****.
