It's also far different from how I interact with people I am training, working alongside for short periods of time, etc.

Regarding politics, I try my darndest to try and not talk about it during work. And for the majority of my professional career, my colleagues inside and outside the office have done the same.

Ironically, it's been the conservatives I've worked with that were the least shy about projecting their political values. From the drillers in Louisiana that talked about that Obama the socialist (and some racial expletives) to one of the senior practitioners when I was in Houston loudly expressing his dislike for Beto in the lunch room, I've experienced a lot more conservative preaching in the work place.

So, were you very careful not to react around those drillers and the senior practitioner, so that nobody knew you disagreed? Are you sure they have no clue that you disagreed?

03-banghead

Done with talking to fence posts.

With the drillers, I tried to laugh it off and half-heartedly agree. No reason to try and pick a fight with the guys I was busting my ass alongside. Kind of a conflict management.

And with the senior practitioner in Houston, similar kind of a response. I had to work with him on a daily basis, so I didn't think it best to engage with him about politics in an inappropriate setting.

I've got zero idea about why you're banging your head or calling me a fence post, you jerk.

Done with the intentional misunderstandings from the left here. Let Owl69 defend what he said - not my job. I will defend what I said, not what you say I said.

And between fence post and jerk, I think fence post is more polite by far.

Give that this thread you just responded to, started with you responding to my post that was directed at Ham, I find this most recent comment rather ironic.

I’ve never asked you to defend what someone else has said, and tried my best to only engage in what you’ve stated. Any misunderstandings are not intentional.

Truth is, I just got fed up with the uselessness of trying to sense to generic leftists, it just happened to come at a time when I was responding to you. You are definitely the best of the lot, albeit a bad lot.

Fence posts was not a good choice. Fence posts don’t talk back with a party line. Truthfully, it is more like trying to rationally discuss religion with a street corner bible thumper. I have tried THAT before, too. Same results.

Regarding the motivations for the impeachment, I note that the Dems have been trying to impeach since before he took office. Just an impeachment looking for a cause. For two years, it was Russian collusion. I don’t buy that now it is just horror at asking Ukraine to investigate. There is no good reason to run a doomed impeachment unless you think there is something to be gained from it. Clearly, that something to be gained is political.

Two years ago, You and I discussed the Russia investigation, and you defended the investigation with where there is smoke, there is fire. Well, there is smoke in the Biden’s backyard, but the Democrats don’t want it investigated. Sheer hypocrisy.

Democrats wanted the Russia investigation and still want tax returns because they think a businessman doing business in Russia must have made shady deals, and the only way to know is an investigation. Exactly NOT what they say about the Biden’s. Why was Hunter hired and not you or me or Big or Tanq? All of us have the same or better qualifications as Hunter. Except one. None of us have a father who can change US policy. Did it happen? Only an investigation would show, and the Dems do not want an investigation, so I guess, for some reason, they don’t want to know.

The more I debate the left, the more I think the right is right. You guys are just driving me farther right.
