I don't even know how such a study could be performed, given the highly subjective nature of the issue. What is one person's extreme opinion is another person's fact. For example, if one says that Donald Trump has committed impeachable offenses, is that opinion or fact? I'd be interested in any thoughts you might have about how such a study could be designed. I'd actually like to do it, but I can't figure out how to get a relevant and objective data set.

I do know that studies of (self-reported) voting habits and giving to political parties/candidates indicate that academia leans about 90% left. And I think is only reasonable to expect that such an extreme viewpoint will find its way into lectures and other interaction with students, either as expressed opinion, or more often in the choice of what "facts" to present as factual.

I don't know that further discussion will get us anywhere. I think those who lean right see a perceived bias that those who lean left simply don't. That suggests pretty strongly that there is a bias, and in which direction.
