I have never heard this and don't understand why sociology would be inherently liberal or conservative. From the BBC:

I don't know that it is inherently anything. But the people attracted to it as a field of study seem almost all hard left leaning, The Thomas Sowell comment that you omitted to quote seems very applicable.
Do you know any republican sociologists?
Isn't academia, in general, pretty liberal? If so, what if academia interests liberals more than conservatives?

Well, in that case, we could expect all academia to be biased. And sociology seems to be more biased than academia in general.

Does that mean someone can't be unbiased because of their political views?
