I always was a little nervous with Gantz back there, not sure if that is justified or not. It would be wonderful if NIU had a freshman kicker do an adequate job so that position could be steady for awhile.
In the spring game he hit a 52 or 53 yd kick. Call me impressed.

Ference is just so talented as a punter. Hoping he stays for next 2 years.

#37 had some nice punts too but was inconsistent. Typical MAC kicker material.

Ference also tried a couple long FGs but they looked rushed and the ball nearly knocked out a few fellow huskies practicing at the 5 yd line. He seems to be the backup.
