Seems a lot of focus in camp is developing some depth. Often roster depth is where the FBS teams have an edge late in the game.

That article from back on the 9th. One from today basically laid out the 2 deep:
DEs: Starters Carter, Daka; next Maginley & then Fr Jalen Green
DTs: Starters Greene & Atariwa; backups Thurston & Groulx.

Think this DL IF they can stay healthy could be very similar to 2017. That was a dominant DL, probably the best in the country & JMU history. 3 All CAA (should have all been 4). 2 1st team All CAA, & Ankrah was a Consensus AA. Also wasn’t very deep. As you recall they really only played about 6 guys, and they didn’t suffer any major injuries.

JMU can help that DL stay fresh(er) against WVU if JMU can run the ball (and clock) while scoring, and JMU doesn’t turn the ball over. Simple and not particularly a revelation. The proof will be in doing it. I think we will, and in the process come away with a win.

If we run up-tempo offense the defense is going to be on the field a lot more than in the past unless they get quick stops. Something to watch for.

Up-tempo does not necessarily equate to scoring quickly. If JMU’s up-tempo results in sustained drives of 50 yards + (with no turnovers), that alone can provide a significant time-of-possession help to our D. As you say, we still have to get stops on D to get them off the field.
