RE: Fast forward to 2025...

OU will leave, they would gain more financially and in stability than going SEC or B1G. I see B1G slightly more likely (restart the Nebraska rivalry). Texas I can't see sticking around without OU, so I see them going ACC (full member, no Independent Football), as neither the B1G or SEC seem right for all their needs (being a bigger fish than the pond -- they have their money already).
So all I see happening is the B12 back filling with 2 or 3 schools from a small list of 6 schools:
BYU, Colorado State, Houston, Cincinnati, South Florida, Central Florida (I went West to East, not any ranking order)
I have no clue which. When I measured the metrics they were all close, with BYU on top, but not by much, and the other 5 so close as to be within the margin of error for value. I think it will come down to who is on an upswing institutionally and athletically come 2023 and 2024. It could be any of them.
I see minor back fill from AAC if needed, ditto MWC if they lose CSU. And nothing more.
I don't see enough value in all the "open access" schools of the B12 for any of the other P5 to make a move. So I think they all stand pat. (KU is the only possible from the little 8, and I just don't think it's likely unless they miraculously become a playoff contender by 2023)
Little 8-LOL. I guess the little 8 should discontinue all sports since none of us have any value.
I think the power schools who make all the money should form a league of their own. USC, UCLA, Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Clemson, North Carolina, Virginia, Michigan, Nebraska, Iowa and Penn St can form a league while the little members from those conferences form a 2nd league consisting of the following:
Washington, Oregon, Stanford, Cal, Arizona, Arizona St, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma St, Kansas, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Miss St, Auburn, Florida St
South Carolina and Ohio St.
