Anyone who thinks UConn has given up on joining a P5 isn't thinking clearly. That's their end-goal.

I can't see it. Tell me the scenario that you envision which ends with UConn in a P5 conference.

If UConn basketball rebounds under Danny Hurley (this is the toughest part, but getting back to being a perennial Final Four contender), the fanbase gets re-energized vs historic rivals and with BET at MSG, and the Big East as a whole keeps improving, etc...

At that point, i could see the ACC offering UConn a non-football invitation to get the conference to 16 hoops teams. Yes, the football team would be indy still, but for UConn at least they'd be at least part of the ACC. And the ACC can re-start is babbling about playing at the Garden.

Also, with UConn football scheduling, they can always schedule UMass twice a year, home and away.

Quo Vadis, billyjack had a swing-and-a-miss. Can you improve on his plan? Surely, if UConn is pursuing a P5 situation, they see at least one promising path. How do they keep football alive in the meantime? I think the money drain will sink football by 2021.

CAA FB - Albany, Delaware, Elon, James Madison, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Richmond, Stony Brook, Towson, and William & Mary. Get on the bus Gus - UConn wants to play REGIONALLY. 04-cheers
