But why sign a new television deal that locks you into a higher buyout in March to just leave in June? It just feels like either A) a total reactionary and mismanaged approach to the new TV deal over 3rd tier rights and distribution with SNY or B) new information has come to light to their administration. "A" wouldn't surprise me but it still seems totally insane that they would nuke their FB program like that over mediocre basketball games. It's not like the top games for UConn's men's and women's hoops aren't already shown on ESPN.

I mean, did they not foresee the new television deal to include a lot of ESPN+ programming when everyone kind of saw that writing on the wall? Just weird...

Perhaps they expected ESPN to reach an amicable deal with SNY but that fell apart shortly after the new deal was signed?

My guess is UConn will sue the AAC to try to get out of the exit fee (or get it substantially reduced).

Based on what? STUPIDITY?

Too much money at stake and plenty of attorneys who will take up the case. I'm sure they will have no problem cooking up some reason why this contract wasn't valid or how they were harmed/wronged by the AAC.
