Capel had 2 NCAA tourneys with one win and an NIT with a Big East win in 7 years. JJ has 1 NCAA and one NIT (F4). Both coached 7 years. If JJ can get another NCAA and a win soon, he will prove he’s better. Otherwise it’s about a wash, with Capel having a slight advantage. Difference is we were trending down and Capel got fired. JJ might be trending up, or at worst stagnant. If he doesn’t get a post season this year I imagine he will be on the hot seat. If he does, I think he shows he’s the better coach. Either way, it’s pretty close. And sober BT is way better than the two put together.
