Anyway, I wonder if Shanu would be a good redshirt candidate. As a big they would get more bang for their buck by getting that year of growth in muscle, and if he's truly a project, wouldn't amount to many minutes anyway.

Point being, if we can get that experienced forward that we seem to be lacking, then Shanu redshirts, seems like a good use of the scholarship, and not so much investment in one position as Giles puts it.

Seems like a juco at that spot would be a nice fit for us, assuming Shanu redshirts.

Did our coaches say he's a project? Where is that statement even coming from I'm wondering?

The one article that says that Shanu is a top 25 texas prospect said something along the lines (and I'm paraphrasing) "Shanu might not contribute much right away but has a very high ceiling to his career". So basically people are taking away that he can be very good but needs work, which is not that far away from the idea of a "project".

If Shanu does indeed need some time to work on his game, then getting a grad-transfer big to supplement Ezikpe, Reese, and Karaiskos, wouldn't be a bad idea in my mind.
