You act as though 6-10 ready-for-college-play big men are available for the taking through Amazon or Walmart. The guys you want are almost certainly going to power programs. It's not that nobody WANTS that guy, it's that getting them in this day and age requires something big breaking your way. Maybe you invested in their recruitment from their freshman year and cultivated that relationship even as the power teams come calling, Maybe the kid is a real homebody. Maybe he's really into oceanography or something. Otherwise, you want a big guy, you're taking a project or someone with major issues and hoping for the best. If that's not to your satisfaction, I'd suggest following UNC or Kentucky or a program that can get those guys on the regular.

Yet other non P5 teams seem to be able to get pretty good inside players. Even ODU has a strong history of them before JJ arrived. Not bashing JJ, but I do think he has difficulty evaluating and recruiting inside players. Didn’t we get Kalu because of Baze.
