That is very true AAC or Big East?

ECU - USF - UCF - Cincinnati - Temple - Navy - Memphis - Houston - SMU - Tulane - Tulsa - Wichita St.

Villanova - Seton Hall - Providence - Butler - Marquette - Creighton - Xavier - St. John’s - Georgetown - DePaul - UConn

You can’t lose either way. It’s such a tough call. Clearly, the BE is a MUCH better basketball conference. The AAC is the best non P5 conference by a longshot. Don’t know how they stack up in other Olympic sports.

Sigh... If only we were wanted.

I think it ultimately just comes down to whether we would rather be known as a football or basketball school. If we'd rather have notoriety for basketball, Big East is the way to go. If it's football, AAC is the better option.

Why not both? LU is growing in both sports right now.

I think both conferences offer strengths. My concern is if the AAC starts getting poached by other conferences. The Big East may end up overall better in this scenario. Big East + flexible football scheduling, as an indy, is very appealing to me.

Both very well could be! I only asked which we would rather be known for because frankly, at least up front, choosing one or the other will paint us as a school that wants to be known for ______.

Understood. This got me thinking about how many P5 schools are strong at both football and MBB. It seems like a lot of traditionally strong MBB schools are not necessarily strong football schools and vise versa.
