Or something like that. Coastal Carolina doesn't bring anything. They have one of the lowest budgets, fan bases, etc. in FBS with no winning tradition. Basketball isn't better. Maybe exclude UNC Charlotte and UAB for the Florida twins but nobody is much of a catch when we're scraping the bottom of the barrel. There's a reason the AAC isn't in a rush to add anyone and will avoid it if all possible.

Charlotte/Ga State are worst than CCU in almost all of those areas. Really most of these are worst. FIU brings nothing but FAU wouldn’t be too bad. JMU would make a lot of sense if we're going for the best teams.

This is why it doesn't make sense for us to join a G5 conference. These are the *best* we can hope to pair with at this time and it still makes us cringe. The American is fine now but what happens if they get poached? Would they be even worth joining at that point?

It makes sense from all other sports. Having teams like Marshall, JMU and ODU in all others would help a lot. Football would be about the same as what it is now. I’m all for a conference.
