This has been mostly my experience as well with AppleTV

AppleTV thus far is more reliable than Roku. The issue with this is that AppleTV is ballpark $150-200 vs $25-30 for what amounts to a CAA sports set top box. The more affordable and mainstream option is proving less reliable, which wasn’t the case with Stretch. Stretch had its own headaches but it was fairly reliable using Roku.
