Not at all. i felt we were making progrss at times - 10 win seasons, conference championships, etc - but we always managed to slide back.

But the last three years, I expected Bailiff to be fired and was OK with that that. YOU find the qiotes that say different.

We all would. Having some players have breakout performances like Clement, Dillard and Casey would sure help.

After two games, I was ready to back a moving van up to Bailiff's house. I did defend him from ridiculous accusations such as he didn't care about winning, and I would do the same again for Bloom if it gets that stupid.

One ofmthe stupid things was "AnybodyButBailiff". I guess I was expecting more from ABB. But if ABB motivated better, gameplanned better, practised better than Bailiff, he didn't win better. yet. i hope ABB does better in that category this year - the only category I care about.

I have decided to judge solely on wins, rather than subjective things like crispness. on the basis of wins, we truly did have a year zero. We needed to have a year one, and didn't get it. Well, I hope this year we have a year one, and that would be 3-4 wins

Why is everybody so forgiving of Bloom? is it because he is not Bailiff?

bailiff is history, and deservedly so. bloom will get his chance, and so far, not so good. but he can change my mind easily - just win.

Buddy, I don't think anyone is being more forgiving of Coach Bloom. Rather, we're simply being realistic. He took over a program that had been on a horrendous 4-year downward spiral; one that had been ranked among the bottom 10 programs (out of 128 teams) in the prior 3 years...and had close to an empty roster of talent. And his first year's squad was largely Bailiff's recruits (save for some late signings). He had to change the culture, which often requires bringing in your own recruits and, consequently, takes 2 - 3 years to fully take hold.

Despite last year's awful record, we have seen a dramatic uptick in recruiting; something we should start seeing the dividends from next season. Yes, one should hope for an improvement in Year 2 of one's tenure, but Bloom inherited a Year 2 schedule that is a killer, with 9 bowl teams from last season, and four non-winnable (on paper at least) OOC games. We not only play those 4 OOC games back-to-back-to-back-to-back, giving the team no time to recover from our two "body bag" games (UT, Baylor), but we don't get a week off until Week 7 of the season.

Again, not giving Bloom a free pass-- he should be graded on the improvement of play on the field, but given the schedule, such improvement may very well not translate into wins in 2019.
